Quality, Training and Controls Supervisor

Operating duty:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive training programs and standard operating procedures. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our employees have the knowledge and tools they need to perform their duties effectively and efficiently, while also maintaining compliance with industry standards and company policies. You will also be accountable for ensuring the quality standards are being met with the training and operating procedures and processes, and that internal controls are in place to ensure all internal and compliance standards are being met.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors overall quality departmental performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive training programs for all levels of the organization.
  • Ensure audit controls are in place and align with our ISO certification requirements
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and create tailored training materials to address them.
  • Design, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions, workshops, and other learning initiatives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and SOPs through feedback, assessments, and other metrics, and make necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
  • Monitor that SOP’s and training are aligned, effective and efficient, and make recommendations to continuous improvement.
  • Make recommendations for necessary controls to maintain or improve quality, training and compliance standards.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the quality control systems, tools and procedures
  • Communicate the effectiveness and status of goals achieved to all stakeholders in the organization on a regular basis.
  • Gathers samples of raw materials and evaluates them using lab equipment to ensure they meet company standards regarding quality and color.
  • Gathers random samples of outgoing finished products and evaluates them using lab equipment to ensure they meet company and customer standards.
  • Reports findings to supervisor and takes appropriate next steps for acceptable and/or unacceptable samples.
  • When quality problems occur, assists supervisors and other inspectors with follow-up checks.
  • Assists line inspectors in isolating the cause of quality problems; offers assistance and provides recommendations for resolving and preventing further problems.
  • Ensure that SOPs are accessible and communicated effectively to supervisor, managers, and all relevant stakeholders across the organization.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure that training and SOPs remain relevant and compliant.
  • Work with Human Resources, Safety, Maintenance, Warehouse and Plant Operations teams to ensure that training programs meet compliance, safety, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in onboarding new employees by providing training and ensuring they understand company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor any other assigned trainers in the organization.
  • Act as a leader, role model for safety, quality, and controls standards.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer when in the office.
  • Prolonged periods walking around a foundry.
  • Prolonged periods of using a forklift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • This position will require the use and wear of all PPE and safety equipment.
  • Must be available at times to train and/or monitor training on different shifts schedules to accommodate internal teams.
Project Manager

Operating duty:

The Project Manager for PSW Group is responsible for leading and managing projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. This role involves coordination between product development, production, logistics, and quality assurance teams to ensure the successful execution of operations, product development, and process improvements.

This position will be located in the PSW Corporate office in downtown Chicago and will be onsite 4 days a week and one day being remote.

 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop detailed project plans for new product launches, production upgrades, or process improvements.
  • Coordinate with product development, and production teams to establish clear project timelines, milestones, and resources needed.
  • Ensure the alignment of project goals with business objectives, customer requirements, and regulatory standards.

Leadership and Coordination:

  • Lead cross-functional teams including, product development, productions, quality assurance, and external stakeholders.
  • Assign tasks and ensure team members are clear on responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Foster collaboration between departments and product development teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage project budgets, ensuring that all necessary resources are efficiently allocated.
  • Monitor project expenditures, track costs, and adjust plans as necessary to stay within budget.
  • Oversee procurement of materials and resources needed for production processes and for project completion.

Risk Management and Problem-Solving:

  • Identify potential risks to the project such as production delays, supply chain issues, equipment breakdowns, or design challenges.
  • Implement proactive measures to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of project operations.
  • Troubleshoot production or process issues, guiding the team through problem-solving to minimize downtime.
  • Finish the project on time.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all projects comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality controls specific to the company.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop and implement quality control processes during production.
  • Address any defects or deviations from quality standards promptly, coordinating corrective actions as necessary; and communicate to necessary stakeholders accordingly.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Provide regular project updates to senior management, highlighting milestones, risks, issues, and progress.
  • Prepare and deliver status reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), budgets, and schedules.
  • Ensure clear communication between all stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and suppliers.

Post-Project Evaluation:

  • Conduct post-project reviews to assess the success of the project, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate lessons learned and apply findings to future projects for continuous improvement.

  • Strong knowledge of foundry operations, metal alloys, heat treatment processes, and quality standards will be a plus.
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and ERP systems.
  • Experience in leading teams and collaborating with cross-functional departments to meet project goals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address production and operational challenges.

Sales Manager – Non-Ferrous Metals

We are looking for an enthusiastic Sales Manager to join the PSW Group team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. This role involves developing strategic sales plans, identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the metal manufacturing industry, a proven track record in sales leadership, and the ability to drive growth and profitability.

 

Position Type: Full Time

Working Hour: Monday to Friday; 8am to 4pm

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking an enthusiastic Sales Manager – Non-Ferrous Metals to join our PSW Group team in Chicago, IL. Other key responsibilities will be to:

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by maintain and develop the existing customers relationship.
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands company’s new customer base and ensure its strong presence in the market.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs.
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status and expand new products markets.
  • Finish other tasks assigned by the upper management.


Job requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Sales experience in aluminum is a must.
  • BS/MS degree in business administration or automotive or aluminum related field experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years of Outside Sales experience, with 3+ years as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position within the non-ferrous metal industry preferred.
  • Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Previous experience is required in developing new customers as well as maintaining existing customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Experience setting sales goals.
  • Results-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Deep understanding of CRM systems and best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Basic logistic knowledge will be a plus.
  • ERP system or sales force experience will be a plus.
