• 1974 — TriALco, Inc was established in Chicago Heights, IL by three men with diverse industry experience and passion in metals.
• 1996 — MagReTech was built in Bellevue, Ohio with a focus on magnesium recycling.
• 1998 — Crown Metals CZ was founded in Litvínov, Czech Republic.
• 2002 — Crown Metals CZ’s plant was officially opened.
• 2008 — Crown Metals CZ developed a process to produce fertilizer from re-processed dross.
• 2011 — Crown Metals CZ’s first fertilizer, Mag 221, produced from re-processed dross achieved certification.
• 2015 — Crown Metals CZ achieved 100% waste-free production by turning dross into Environmental Authority approved, self-developed fertilizers Maglit 100, Maglit 100 plus, and Mag 221; and was awarded the International Environmental Responsibility Award by the International Magnesium Association.
• 2016 — MagReTech transitioned into its current ownership. Investments were made in new technologies and process improvements, reconsolidating the foundation for future success.
• 2018 — MagReTech’s plant facility expansion project was completed with some of the world’s most cutting-edge magnesium recycling technologies.
• 2019 — MagReTech completed the first semi-solid magnesium chip recycling line in North America; Crown Metals CZ transitioned into its current ownership.
• 2020 — MagReTech reduced carbon emissions by 71.7% from the 2017 peak with a new processing line, and started production of rare earth alloys.
• 2022 — In October 2022, TriALco Inc transitioned into new ownership, changing its name to today’s Trialco Aluminum, LLC.
